BrittKids Koncerts - The Land of Colors
JenUwin Playtime’s musical programs are simply the most entertaining and educational I have ever presented. As the Director of Education for Britt Music & Arts Festival, it is my job to make sure our offerings include performances that will be engaging as well as educational, and JenUwin Playtime offers just that!
”The Land of Colors” gives young students the opportunity to learn about individual orchestral instruments in detail, and hear several different sounds from each instrument. It also teaches them important lessons about how to be helpful and open to new discoveries.
This program has become very popular among the audiences of families, teachers and students alike. JenUwin Playtime really involves the audience in her adventures, which keeps them engaged and learning throughout the presentation. The students learn about music and much more. I highly recommend this program.”

Land of Colors - Red Trombone
There once was a unicorn who lived in the land of Silver Sparkles where the resident glories of unicorns only saw the color of silver. Our unicorn protagonist dreamt of a world in brilliant colors, and after waking from yet another colorful dream, she decided she will now go on the adventure to find this Land of Colors from her dreams.
During her journey thru the wilderness, she encounters several orchestral instruments playing a lovely excerpt in the woods. However, something is amiss with each instrument as a strange sound occurs amidst their wonderful tunes. The unicorn approaches the instruments and inquires about what the instruments is and how the sound is being made, providing kids with a fun-filled introduction to orchestral instruments. The unicorn interacts with each instrument asking about how they work and identifying key components pf the instruments (such as the the slide, valves, strings, keys, bows, mouthpieces etc.) The musicians respond by playing notes and sounds, which the unicorn translates for the audience.
Once the interaction is complete around ‘how the sound is made’, the unicorn inquires about the “wonky note”. Another exploration ensues ‘searching’ for the culprit - a colored scarf ‘hidden’ in the instrument! Once the scarf is removed, the instrument can play all the notes, and our Unicorn can now see a new color! This proceeds through the colors of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Each time, the unicorn adds the new scarf to her mane to have a complete rainbow mane by the end of the show!
Music includes original tunes; Land of Colors, If You've Got, and Purple! Plus two classics; Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Sing a Rainbow - orchestrated for the ensemble with live voice and ukulele by JenUwin, the musical unicorn with moxie!
